New students panic in Edo State Poly after the announcement of dates for tests and exam.

The newly matriculated students of Edo State polytechnic panic and express how anxious they are, after receiving the information that they will be writing exam three weeks after matriculation.

Some out of the 2300 newly admitted students of Edo State polytechnic have expressed their concern over the date of tests and examination newly released by the institution immediately after the matric. The students who were matriculated on the 17th of June for the 2020/2021 academic session doubted if they will be able to meet up with the short time given to them to quickly finish their syllabus.

After interviewing some of them over the decision of the institution to have them sit for their exam three weeks after their matriculation, they pitifully express themselves, that, though it is not the fault of the institution, because ASUP strike has done a lot of harm to the students rather than good. They said, polytechnic students have been at home for over two months due to ASUP strike, and generally all institution in Nigeria are yet to be free from the grip of corona virus delay, before ASUP add it own.

 In the quest or eagerness to meet up with time, the polytechnic should consider the students also, because many of them may not be able to assimilate what they suppose to learn for two or three months in a jiffy of three weeks. The students also said "another issue we are having is the proclamation of "no school fee, no exam by the school management. All fingers are not equal and many of us struggle to put food on the dinning table for ourselves and also pay our school fees.

"The school should help us to add two or three weeks if possible, to enable us to have enough time to engage in intensive study, so that we can assimilate well. "We know the school also needed money to finance their affairs, but they should also try considering the newly admitted students that have been put on the rush to pay their school fees within three weeks after matriculation", they said.

USEN COMMUNITY REGAINS PEACE

Usen, a community housing Edo State Polytechnic has regained back her peace some hours after a young man was shot by some unknown gun men. The incidence which happen around 3pm today left everyone in the community with tension and fear. However, some vendors, shop owners and students have confirmed that truly a young man was reportedly shot by some young men who drove to the shop of the young man by name Mr Folorunso and shot him.  However, after the incidence the indigenous security together with other security officials known as Gboolaga are fully in charged and have taken it upon themselves to ensure the community is safe for all to live and relate.

One dead Around EdoPoly School Gate

A young man has reportedly been shot dead around the school gate premises, in Usen, the community housing Edo State Polytechnic, Usen. A source confirmed it to Shalomupdatez that the issue happens around 3pm. "The demise Folorunso shot by two guys who suddenly came out of a vehicle and trigger the gun twice" he noted. Another source however also claims that the demise is a welder and his mother is a well known fish seller in Usen community. While investigating the matter, a passer by, a woman in the community was found making call saying, "your brother Folorunso whose mother sell fish has been shot, and he is dead".
