MANIFESTOE

 A REMINDER TO THE STUDENT UNION GOVERNMENT OF ESPU.

Making reference to the meeting held with the SUG executives on the 11th of May, 2021. The meeting was actually the first meeting with the government of President Sandra Soga Omolere, the first female Student Union Government of Edo State Polytechnic Usen.

It is expedient for me to pen this in order to remind Mr President government of her promises. She re-enforces her messages concerning her manifestoes before the great students of this institution during the congress held on the 11 of May. The meeting was covered by shalomupdatez.blogspot.com. The president stated in her speech, that she is going to construct bumbs at the major road that leads to the school gate, before gaining entrance to the school premises, in order to curb the rate at which accidents is happening there.

The rate at which accidents occur before the school gate premises is now alarming. After the case of two Mass communication students Damilola and Seyi by name, which nearly took away their lives, alot of accidents have taken place at thesame spot around the school gate as a result of over speeding. Damilola having been through enormous pain, sustaining injuries and fracture of the bone on her right leg, has spent couples of months not to talk of the gigantic amount of money spent in UBTH. 

Among many other cases after that of Damilola and Seyi's fatal accident, was that of a timber lorry whose break fails and nearly took away the lives of two bikers, at thesame spot where the first accident took place. Recently, an accident also took place at thesame spot and a lady from the department of Mass communication was involved, whose name is Elizabeth. She sustained a serious injury also.

All these occurrences are omen that evil is ravaraging around the school gate due to over speeding. And the only resolution to this, is the creation of bumbs before the school gate, inorder to limit the rate at which vehincle and bike users speed infront of the school. The well being of the students should be considered and in so doing, Mr President should help fulfil her promises on the creation of bumbs on the road that leads to the school gate.  

We appreciate her government for the relentless efforts put together inorder to fix up some marred aspects of the institution at her reach. Though she said before, "the problems of this institution are enormous and my government only cannot solve them all, but I will try my best to provide solution to some, in my regime. The purpose of writing this, is not to mimick the SUG bodies rather, it is a reminder and I don't expect any to give a meaning out of context to it.
