EDO STATE POLYTECHNIC USEN SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

Edo State Polytechnic has granted a scholarship award to ten indegenes of Usen community to study in any field of their choice both ND/HND.

The Rector, Prof Abiodun Falodun has made known to the king of Usen Community during a visit to the king's palace before the convocation press review on Tuesday, October 26, where the polytechnic is located that Edo State Polytechnic has granted  ten indegenes a scholarship award to study their desire courses.  

The Rector Prof. Abiodun noted during his speech that, the scholarship award is a token of appreciation to the Community for accepting and supporting the Polytechnic.  "Therefore, it is a way by which the polytechnic can repay the community back of her tireless efforts to make the school a renowned one".

Furthermore, the rector Prof, Abiodun Falodun stated that the school will also need the collaboration of the community in terms of security, and he made some prayers in the local dialect after the breaking of colanut according to the custom of the land.

He rector also made known that the school will be having her 3rd/4th convocation ceremony on the 28th of November 2021, after the approval of the His Excellency Godwin Obaseki, the Governor of Edo State.

The Oba Elawure, king of Usen Community applauded the Polytechnic for her good works, and appreciated the rector Prof Abiodun and all the staffs under him for manifesting such a great kindness towards the indegenes of the community. He promised to always give his possible support in terms of security, and also endeavour to continue to contribute to the growth of the school.

USEN COMMUNITY REGAINS PEACE

Usen, a community housing Edo State Polytechnic has regained back her peace some hours after a young man was shot by some unknown gun men. The incidence which happen around 3pm today left everyone in the community with tension and fear. However, some vendors, shop owners and students have confirmed that truly a young man was reportedly shot by some young men who drove to the shop of the young man by name Mr Folorunso and shot him.  However, after the incidence the indigenous security together with other security officials known as Gboolaga are fully in charged and have taken it upon themselves to ensure the community is safe for all to live and relate.

One dead Around EdoPoly School Gate

A young man has reportedly been shot dead around the school gate premises, in Usen, the community housing Edo State Polytechnic, Usen. A source confirmed it to Shalomupdatez that the issue happens around 3pm. "The demise Folorunso shot by two guys who suddenly came out of a vehicle and trigger the gun twice" he noted. Another source however also claims that the demise is a welder and his mother is a well known fish seller in Usen community. While investigating the matter, a passer by, a woman in the community was found making call saying, "your brother Folorunso whose mother sell fish has been shot, and he is dead".
