The General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has commended the Governor of Edo State, , for what he described as a decisive and courageous approach towards tackling insecurity in the state and across Nigeria.
Speaking during a recent address, Apostle Suleman expressed confidence that the nation's security challenges would eventually be overcome, noting that efforts to combat insecurity require both spiritual and physical interventions.
"Don't worry, insecurity will come to an end. I am not folding my hands because as I am doing the spiritual, I am also doing the physical aspect, but I cannot tell you some of the things we are doing," the cleric stated.
The renowned preacher further praised Governor Okpebholo's recent comments and initiatives aimed at strengthening the fight against kidnapping and cultism in Edo State.
"We saw what the Governor of the State said. That is how a governor and a leader should speak. We don't need diplomacy in war, and we don't need diplomacy over mad people. I therefore commend the Governor of the State," he said.
Apostle Suleman revealed that while he was in Canada, he followed reports of the governor's proposal to establish a special court dedicated to the speedy trial of kidnapping and cult-related offences.
"I was in Canada when I saw what he said about creating a special court for the trial of kidnapping and cultism cases so as to avoid the delay of judicial procedure," he added.
The cleric also advocated a firm approach towards dealing with kidnappers, insisting that government authorities should not negotiate with criminal elements.
According to him, "The only conversation a kidnapper has is with God and not with man."
He maintained that rather than engaging in negotiations with kidnappers, government should ensure that offenders face the full weight of the law through established judicial processes.
Apostle Suleman's remarks come amid growing concerns over the rising cases of kidnapping and violent crimes in parts of the country, with stakeholders continuing to call for stronger measures to safeguard lives and property.
