Ronaldo Makes History with Goals in Six World Cups
Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo etched his name deeper into football history after becoming the first player ever to score in six different FIFA World Cup tournaments.
The 41-year-old forward achieved the remarkable feat on Tuesday when he scored a brace in Portugal's emphatic 5-0 victory over Uzbekistan in a Group K match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Ronaldo opened the scoring in the sixth minute before adding his second goal later in the first half, helping Portugal secure a dominant win and move closer to qualification for the knockout stage.
With the achievement, Ronaldo surpassed all previous World Cup scoring records by finding the net in the 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018, 2022, and 2026 editions of the tournament. The Portuguese legend also became Portugal's all-time leading World Cup goalscorer, overtaking the long-standing record held by football icon Eusébio.
The historic performance silenced critics who had questioned Ronaldo's form after Portugal's opening match and further cemented his status as one of the greatest players in football history.
